I work remotely for the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, implementing their Mexican Biodiversity Exploration program, and MEXUS gives me a strong academic base near the California-Baja California border, and supports our cross-border research efforts. As a Resident Scholar at UC MEXUS I am able to continue collaborating with UC colleagues to further our research in the Cabo Pulmo region of Baja California Sur, where we are documenting terrestrial biodiversity and connecting land and ocean processes in this biodiversity hotspot. I am also hoping to use my residency at MEXUS to further sustainable ranching efforts in Baja California and Coahuila, in collaboration with several non-profit organizations in Mexico, including Terra Peninsular AC, where I serve as a Science Advisor.
